Simple is better
I’ve done handles and locks but they all end up popping open at the worst time possible. I end up adding a jeep style hood latch as backup up. So why not just start with something similar?

Yes the lights but the real project was buytal tape (puddy) under the trim with longer screws.

A plan
I have a plan for glueing the top down. Shot some screws to hold it in place, the holes are where the trim will cover it.
